The family fled with what they could carry. In the camp, a partner ministry gave them blankets, a stove — and, when the father asked quietly about the Book he'd heard of but never been permitted to read, a solar audio player with Scripture in his own language.
“They listen at night, as a family, with the volume low,” the partner reports. “The father says it is the only hour of the day that feels like before the war. Except, he says, there was no such hour before the war.”
The ministry reports whole clusters of tents now sharing players, and quiet conversations that would have been unthinkable in the family's home country. For their safety, no names or locations are given — but the partner's message to donors was simple: “Keep sending light.”
